The juicy mouth-feel, vibrant colour and yummy taste of tomatoes make it a great hit with young and old alike.
We have capitalised on all the positive aspects of tomatoes to make an awesome sandwich. Seasoned with pepper, this easy and quick Tomato Cheese Sandwich tastes amazing.
However, it is important to serve it immediately after preparation because it tends to get watery.
You can serve this as an after-school snack to your kids, as they will surely love the juicy, cheesy taste.

- Place 2 bread slices on a clean, dry surface, trim the edges and spread 1 tsp of cheese spread on each bread slice and spread it evenly.
- Place 4 tomato slices over one cheese spread slice, sprinkle a little salt and pepper evenly over it.
- Cover it with another bread slice with the cheese spread side facing downwards and press it lightly.
- Cut the sandwich into 2 diagonally pieces.
- Repeat steps 1 to 4 to make 3 more sandwiches.
- Serve immediately.

To prepare tomato cheese sandwich, place 2 bread slices on a clean, dry surface. You can easily source the bread from the market but, you can also make them at home using our detailed recipes for homemade bread. You can make any variety of bread like: Multigrain Bread, Bread Loaf, or Whole Wheat Bread You can also lightly toast the bread before using it if you like a crunchy crust.
Trim the edges and discard the thick crust. You can even preserve them and use them to prepare breadcrumbs or add them while preparing green chutney.
Spread 1 tsp of cheese spread on each bread slice. Since we are using cheese spread, we are not applying butter to the bread. If you are using cheese slice or grated cheddar, processed or mozzarella cheese then apply butter for a rich flavor.
Spread it evenly using a butter knife. Spicy food lovers can also smear green chutney, chilli sauce or tabasco sauce for an extra kick.
Place 4 tomato slices over one cheese spread slice. If you don’t want the sandwich to turn mushy, use a spoon to remove the watery pulp from the slices. Arrange the tomatoes on a paper towel, blot the slices with more paper towels and then use them.
Sprinkle a little salt and pepper evenly over it. This sandwich recipe is versatile as you can make use of any herbs or veggies of your choice.
