A quick snack made using left over breads. Bread pieces cooked with onions, tomatoes, capsicum and masalas gives a satisfying snacky feel. Enjoy as it is, or top it on cream cracker or monaco biscuits or plain khakhras.

Tasty Veg Masala Bread recipe - How to make Tasty Veg Masala Bread

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 servings

2 tbsp oil
6 slices of bread , cut into small pieces
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup sliced capsicum
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1 tsp chaat masala
1 tsp red chilli powder
3/4 tsp garam masala
salt to taste
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander (dhania)
2 tsp butter
  1. Heat oil in a pan and add the onions and capsicum. Saute on a medium flame for 5 to 6 minutes, or till the onions turn light brown.
  2. Add the tomatoes, mix well and cook for 3 more minutes, till tomatoes are cooked.
  3. Add the red chilli powder, garam masala, chaat masala and salt, mix well and saute for another 1 minute.
  4. Add the bread pieces and toss well.
  5. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Add the coriander, mix well and again close the lid and cook it for 1 minute.
  7. Serve hot with butter on top.
