A simple burger recipe with patties made from paneer and corn used as a filling between the buns, paneer and corn burger makes for an excellent snacking option for children. Enjoy this healthy variation to typical potato based burger recipe with ketchup.

Ingredients

To Be Mixed Together For The Filling
1/2 cup crumbled paneer (cottage cheese)
1/2 cup crushed sweet corn kernels (makai ke dane)
2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
2 tbsp bread crumbs
1 tbsp cornflour
salt to taste

Other Ingredients
4 burger buns
4 tbsp eggless mayonnaise
1 sliced tomato
1 sliced onion
1/2 cup shredded lettuce
salt and freshly ground black pepper powder to taste
bread crumbs for coating
oil for deep-frying
french fries for serving
Method
    Method
  1. Divide the filling into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a round flat tikkis.
  2. Coat the tikkis with bread crumbs evenly form all the sides.
  3. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry the tikkis till they turn golden brown and crisp from all the sides.
  4. Drain on absorbent paper and keep aside.

  1. Slit each burger bun into 2 halves and toast both sides of each slit bun lightly on a tava (griddle).
  2. Place one tikki on the base of a toasted burger bun and top with 1 tbsp of mayonnaise, tomato slices, onion slices, shredded lettuce and sprinkle salt and pepper.
  3. Sandwich with the other half of the burger bun.
  4. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make 3 more burgers.
  5. Serve hot with french fries.
