Ingredients

2 cups curds (dahi)
1/2 cup water
2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 green chilli , chopped
2 tsp ginger (adrak) julliennes
salt to taste

For the tempering
1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1 pinch of asafoetida (hing)
4 to 5 curry leaves (kadi patta)
1 tsp oil
Method

  1. Boil 1/2 cup water with turmeric powder, green chilli, and ginger.
  2. When it comes to a boil, add the curds,and cook over a low flame, while stirring continuously.
  3. Take off the flame and keep aside.
  4. For the tempering
  5. Heat the oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds and allow them to crackle.
  6. Add the asofoetida and curry leaves and cook for a few seconds.
  7. How to proceed
  8. Add the tempering to the curds, mix well and serve hot.
