Strawberry Cupcake recipe - How to make Strawberry Cupcake



Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 12 cupcakes


For The Cup Cakes
150 gms plain flour (maida)
110 gms butter
200 gms sugar
2 eggs
80 ml milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp baking powder

For The Strawberry Butter Cream
4 cups icing sugar , sieved
1 cup unsalted butter , at room
1 tsp strawberry essence
4 tbsp milk or light
food colour (pink)
For the cup cakes

  1. Combine the butter, sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl and whisk well till it
  2. Becomes light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, and whisk continuously till all the eggs are mixed
  4. Well.
  5. Add the flour and milk alternately, starting and finishing off with flour. (the
  6. Sequence will be flour-milk-flour-milk-flour. )
  7. Pipe the cake batter into a lined cupcake mould till ¾th full.
  8. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°c (360°f) for 20 minutes till a skewer comes out clean. Keep aside.

For the strawberry butter cream

    For the strawberry butter cream
  1. Cream the butter in a bowl using a whisk, till it becomes smooth and fluffy.
  2. Add the lemon juice and mix well.
  3. Add the sugar gradually and blend on a low speed till the sugar dissolves.
  4. Add the milk and beat well using a hand blender.
  5. Beat the frosting on high speed for approx. 5 minutes until light and fluffy.
  6. How to proceed
  7. Once the butter cream icing is ready, use either a palate knife to dab the icing
  8. On the cupcake or a piping bag and nozzle to pipe the icing onto the cupcake.
  9. Use your creativity and decorate the cupcakes with sprinkles or chocolate shavings!
