1 of ginger (adrak)
3 to 4 green chillies , chopped
1 tomato , chopped
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper powder
1/2 tsp fennel seeds (saunf)
1/2 cup boiled macaroni
2 cups spinach (palak) , blanched and pureed
2 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
1 onion , finely chopped
3 to 4 cloves (laung / lavang) of garlic (lehsun) , finely chopped
salt as required
  1. Combine the ginger, green chillie and tomato and blend in a mixer till smooth. Keep aside.
  2. Coarsely grind the fennel seeds and pepper, mix well and keep aside.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds. When the seeds crackle, add the garlic and onions and saute till the onions turn translucent.
  4. Add the prepared tomato paste, fennel seeds powder and mix well. Saute till the mixture leaves oil from the sides.
  5. Add the spinach puree, salt, turmeric , chilli powder, dhania powder, kasuri methi and mix well.
  6. Add little water and when it boils, add the macaroni and boil once.
  7. Serve hot.
