Soyabean thoran is made from soaked soyabeans which are cooked with garlic, tomatoes, onion and chillies and then served with a seasoning of mustard seeds, curry leaves and green chillies.

Ingredients

Soyabean - 200 gms
10 garlic (lehsun) cloves
Red chilli flakes - 2 tsps
Curry leaves - 7-10
1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
Coconut/other vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
Fresh grated Coconut and chopped coriander leaves - optional
salt to taste
Method


  1. Soak the soyabeans in water overnight.
  2. Pressure cook then adding a little salt and water for 5 minutes on low flame after whistle of the cooker blows once
  3. In a pan, heat oil, add chopped garlic and curry leaves.
  4. Once they are crisp add red chilli flakes, turmeric powder and the cooked beans. let the water reduce, adjust salt. garnish with grated coconut and coriander leaves and serve with rice/chapattis.
