Shahed Khajoor ki Karanji recipe - How to make Shahed Khajoor ki Karanji

Ingredients
2 cups plain flour (maida)
1/4 cup semolina (rava)
1/2 tsp baking powder
4 tbsp ghee
a pinch of salt
oil or ghee for frying

For The Filling
1/4 cup honey
1 cup dates (khajur) , deseeded
1/2 cup almonds (badam) , pounded
1 tsp powdered cardamoms
Method
    Method
  1. Grind the filling into a paste. Reserve.
  2. Make a stiff dough with all other ingredients except ghee or oil for frying.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls and roll out each to 8 cm disc.
  4. Put a spoon of filling in the center and fold over.
  5. Flute the edges to make a half moon shape.
  6. Make all karanjis and leave to drop on a piece of muslin.
  7. Deep fry in batches till golden and crisp.
