For The Sesame Seed and Sweet Potato Rolls
500 gms sweet potatoes
3 tbsp powdered cashewnuts (kaju)
3 tbsp ground sesame seeds (til)
3 tbsp dessicated coconut
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp roasted chickpea flour
oil for deep frying

For Tangy Tomato Ketchup
2 chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp chopped garlic (lehsun)
1 tbsp chopped onions
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) powder
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp of oil
For the sesame seed and sweet potato rolls

  1. Peel and cut sweet potato in chunks.
  2. Boil water and cook until they are soft when pierced with a knife or fork.
  3. Drain completely and mash until smooth.
  4. Place in bowl and set aside.
  5. While that is cooking, measure out all the other remaining ingredients.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the mashed sweet potatoes and mix well. Wet your hands and shake off the water.
  7. Grab one portion of the mixture and form a thick roll.
  8. Set this aside on a very lightly oiled plate.
  9. In a large fry pan try to use nonstick ones, heat a very, very thin layer of oil on medium heat for 2 minutes.
  10. Lower the heat to medium low. Add the roll and remember it’s very fragile and while it holds together nicely, they can fall apart.
  11. Cook the roll till golden brown and forms a nice crust.
  12. Once cooked, remove the pan from heat and let them cool down before moving them.

  1. In  a saucepan heat oil, add onion, garlic and cook for 2 mins.
  2. Add the tomatoes cook till tomatoes are soft.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients.
  4. Cook for 2 mins till everything is incorporated.
  5. Check for seasoning and serve.
