Santra idlies recipe - How to make Santra idlies
Cooking Time: Total Time:
1cup orange juice,
1/4tin of condensed milk,
a pinch of salt
2-3tbsps orange flavored powder,
1tsp eno fruit salt
To serve with –orange sauce,
1orange peeled and separated into segements and vanilla ice cream
For orange sauce- 2cups orange juice;
1tsp corn flour ,
1tsp orange marmalade;
1tbsps powdered sugar
;few drops of orange color
- Combine semolina, orange juice, condensed milk, a pinch of salt and orange flavored powder. blend in mixie to make thick batter.if batter is thin,add more orange flavored powder. just before making, add eno fruit salt to the batter. pour 1tbsp batter in greased idli moulds. steam for 8-10minutes. cool slightly, take out of the moulds.
- For the orange sauce- mix orange juice &corn flour to a smooth mixture. add sugar and cook till it becomes thick like sauce. cool and add orange marmalade and few drops of orange color (optional)
- How to serve-arrange idlies in a platter. pour the orange sauce over. top with segmented orange. serve with ice cream
