Rosy Saunf Masala recipe - How to make Rosy Saunf Masala

1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp water
1/2 cup roasted fennel seeds (saunf)
a pinch of edible red colour
2 tsp dried rose petals
1 tsp dry coconut (kopra)
a few drops of rose essence
1/4 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
  1. Combine the sugar and water in a deep pan and cook till the sugar melts.
  2. Add the rose essence and fennel seeds and mix well.
  3. Cook on a medium flame till all the water is evaporated and sugar is coated on evenly on the fennel seeds.
  4. Add the red colour, mix well and remove from the flame to cool the mixture completely.
  5. Spread the fennel seeds on a flat dish and add all the remaining ingredients and mix well.
  6. Cool completely and store in an sir-tight container.
