Rolly Polly Buns recipe - How to make Rolly Polly Buns

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 6 buns

6 buns , scooped from the centre , lightly buttered
1 tsp cornflour
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp dry red chilli flakes (paprika)
1 cup chopped and boiled mixed vegetables
2 tsp tomato ketchup
2 tbsp tomato puree
2 tsp butter
salt to taste
black peppercorns (kalimirch) powder to taste

For The Topping
1/2 cup processed cheese
  1. Toast the scooped buns lightly in a pre-heated oven for about 2 to 3 minutes. Keep aside.
  2. Dissolve the corn flour in the milk and keep aside.
  3. Heat the butter in a non-stick pan, add the chilli flakes, boiled vegetables, salt and pepper and mix well.
  4. Add the tomato puree, tomato ketchup, milk-corn flour mixture and mix again. Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Remove from the flame and keep aside.
  6. Stuff each bun generously with the prepared filling.
  7. Sprinkle the grated cheese and grill in a pre-heated oven at 200°c (400°f) for 8 to 10 minutes or till the cheese melts.
  8. Serve hot.
