Pacchadis to be served alongwith south Indian meal followed by payasam.Here is healthy and delightfull mouthwatering pacchadi with a combination of raw papaya and grated coconut.

Raw Papaya Pacchadi recipe - How to make Raw Papaya Pacchadi


Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 serving

1 raw papaya
1 cup grated coconut
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 small onions , chopped
1/2 tsp powdered mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
4 green chillies , broken into pieces
1 1/2 cups curds (dahi)

For The Tempering
2 tsp oil
2 dry red chillies
few mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
few curry leaves (kadi patta)
  1. Cut papaya into small pieces.
  2. Add papaya pieces along with green chillies and little water and boil the same till the papaya becomes tender. Drain the excess water.
  3. Cool and keep aside.
  4. Mix together coconut, onion and cumin seeds. Add this mixture along with powdered mustard, curd, and salt to the papaya and keep aside.

For tempering

    For tempering
  1. Heat oil in non stick pan, add mustard seeds, when the mustard seed crackles add curry leaves and dried red chillies.
  2. Pour this tempering over the papaya mixture. Mix well.
  3. Serve immediately.
