Main Ingredients For Raw Banana Podi
2 raw bananas , peeled
1/4 cup rice (chawal)
6 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste
  1. Soak the rice in enough water for 20 minutes.
  2. Drain and blend in a mixer along with red chillies, asafoetida and salt to a smooth paste.
  3. Cut raw banana into medium circles of 1 cm thickness and coat the raw banana with the ground paste and keep aside for 20 minutes.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan and shallow fry each pieces till golden brown and crisp.
  5. Serve hot.
