Pyaaz Ke Kangan recipe - How to make Pyaaz Ke Kangan

2 to 3 large thickly sliced onions
1 cup refined flour
2 tbsp corn flour
salt and freshly ground white pepper powder to taste
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup semolina (rava)
oil to deep frying
  1. Separate the onion roundels into rings and discard the rest. Keep aside.
  2. Combine the refined flour, corn flour, salt, white pepper powder and baking powder and sieve so as to mix well.
  3. Add sufficient amount of water to make a thick batter and whsk well so as no lumps remain. Keep aside.
  4. Combine the semolina and salt and pepper in a plate, mix well and keep aside.
  5. Heat the oil in a kadhai, coat each onion ring evenly wit hthe semolina mixture and deep fry each till they turn golden brown in colour form all the sides.
  6. Drain on an absorbent paper and serve hot.
