Method

  1. Add the tamarind into 2 cups of hot water.
  2. Pressure cook the potatoes, chop into cubes when cool.
  3. Chop tomatoes into medium pieces.
  4. Squeeze thick pulp from the tamarind.
  5. Add chopped potatoes/tomatoes, salt, jaggery, turmeric,green chillies and red chilli powder.
  6. Let the vegetables cook well.
  7. For the tempering, heat the oil, add the mustard seeds and urad dal.
