Potato and Soya Pie recipe - How to make Potato and Soya Pie

To Be Mixed Together For The Potato Mixture
5 to 6 medium sized potatoes , boiled and mashed
salt and freshly ground black pepper powder to taste
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp dry red chilli flakes (paprika)

For The Soya Mixture
1 cup soya granules , soaked in 2 cups of milk
2 tbsp oil
1" cinnamon (dalchini) stick
3 cardamoms
3 to 4 cloves (laung / lavang)
1 tsp caraway seeds (shahjeera)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/4 cup chopped onions
2 green chillies , chopped
2 red chillies , . chopped
2 tsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
1 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp red chilli powder
3 tomatoes , finely chopped
few coriander (dhania) , chopped
1/4 cup blanched and chopped spinach (palak)
1/2 tsp garam masala powder

Other Ingredients
3/4 cup grated processed cheese for topping
3/4 cup cream ,
1 tsp red chilli sauce
For the Soya mixture

    For the Soya mixture
  1. Heat the oil in a deep pan, add the cinnamon, cardamoms, cloves, caraway seeds, and cumin seeds.
  2. When the seeds crackle, add the onions , spinach,and red chillies, mix well and saute for few minutes.
  3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and a little water, mix well and sauté for more 2 minutes.
  4. Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and chopped tomatoes, mix well and sauté for 3 minutes.
  5. Add salt and mix well.
  6. Add soya granules with milk, mix well, cover and cook for 3 minutes.
  7. Add the coriander and garam masala powder, mix well and keep aside.

How to proceed

  1. Take a greased baking dish. Pour the potato –milk mixture into it.
  2. Make a crater in the center and fill with half the soya granule mixture.
  3. Spread the remaining soya granule mixture over the potato mixture.
  4. Top with cream –cheese mixed with red chilli sauce.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  6. Serve hot.
