4 to 5 medium sized potatoes
1 tbsp arrowroot
1/4 kg sugar
2 tbsp oil & 1 tbsp ghee for frying
1 to 2 saffron (kesar) strands
yellow colour (not necessary)
little water to make sugar syrup

  1. Boil potatoes & peel off the skin.
  2. Mix arrarot with potatoes.
  3. Put this mixture in chakri sancha and make small circles like chakris.
  4. In one kadai, start frying chakris till golden brownish in colour.
  5. Till these chakris are made, prepare sugar syrup (of 1/2 string) & add saffron & yellow colour to it.
  6. Dip these golden brown chakris in sugar syrup and serve hot.
  7. For decoration, you can sprinkle silver warak or badam pista mixture.
