Papad Paratha recipe - How to make Papad Paratha

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 parathas


For Dough:
1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1 tbsp oil
water as required
salt of pinch

For Stuffing
oil deep frying
4 urad dal (split black lentils) papad
2 boiled and mashed potatoes
green chillies
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp garam masala
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
salt to taste
For dough:

  1. In a bowl take wheat flour, oil, water, salt and make dough of it.

For stuffing

  1. Heat oil in kadhai and deep fry papads and crush them.
  2. In a bowl combine the potatoes, crushed papad, green chillies, turmeric powder, salt, garam masala, coriander leaves and mix well.

For paratha

  1. Divide the dough in 4 portions.
  2. Roll out one portion of the dough into a circle.
  3. Place one portion of the papad filling in the center of the dough circle.
  4. Bring together all the sides in the center and seal tightly.
  5. Roll out again into a circle with the help of a little flour.
  6. Cook the paratha on a tava (griddle), using a little oil until both sides are golden brown.
  7. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling to make 3 more parathas.
  8. Serve hot.
