Palak and Doodhi Raita recipe - How to make Palak and Doodhi Raita


Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 5 to 6 servings

1/4 cup blanched and finely chopped spinach (palak)
1/4 cup grated bottle gourd (doodhi / lauki)
1/4 cup boiled white chick peas
2 tbsp pomegranate (anar) seeds
2 cups beaten curds (dahi)
salt to taste
2 pinches nutmeg (jaiphal) powder

For Garnish
roasted cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1/4 cup roasted and crushed peanuts
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Serve fresh as is or after refrigerating it for an hour.
  3. Before serving garnish it with cumin seeds powder and peanuts.
  4. Serve it with khakra.
