This recipe for palak tikki offers an innovative way of adding the palak in your diet by coating them with besan mixture and then deep frying them. The palak tikkis taste superb when served with green spicy coriander chutney on a rainy day.

6 potatoes , boiled and mashed
1 cup chopped spinach (palak) , blanched and chopped
6 bread
2 tsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
3 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
salt to taste
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
lemon juice
oil for deep frying
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into small equal portions and shape them into small round flat tikkis.
  3. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry till they turn golden brown and crisp from all the sides.
  4. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  5. Serve hot.
