Palak Kababs recipe - How to make Palak Kababs

6 to 8 bread slices
2 cups finely chopped spinach (palak)
2 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
2 tsp chilli powder
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste
1/4 cup grated processed cheese
cornflour for coating
oil for deep frying
  1. Soak the bread slices in water and squeeze the excess water.
  2. Mash and keep aside.
  3. Combine all the ingredients, except the cheese, in a bowl and mix well.
  4. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into small round flat balls.
  5. Place a tbsp of cheese at the center and seal the edges properly.
  6. Coat the kebabs with cornflour evenly from all the sides and keep aside.
  7. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry the kebabs till they turn golden brown and crisp from all the sides.
  8. Drain on an absorbent paper and serve hot.
