A payasam recipe with a nice twist. Carrot payasam or kheer is condensed milk cooked with grated carrots, sugar and cardamoms. An unique orange coloured kheer recipe with an irrestible taste.
- Soak the almonds in i cup milk for atleast 8 to 10 hours and keep aside.
- Combine the carrots along with coconut, soaked almonds, cashews and blend in a mixer to a smooth paste.
- Transfer this paste in a deep pan, add 3/4 litre of milk and bring to boil.
- Add 6 to 8 cups of sugar, mix well and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Serve hot.
