Method


  1. Soak the tamarind in water and extract juice, around 2 glasses.
  2. Peel, wash and slice the onions.
  3. Heat sesame oil, add mustard seeds.
  4. When they crack, add urad and bengal gram.
  5. When red, add sliced onions and curry leaves and fry well.
  6. Add the tamarind juice.
  7. When starts to boil, add sambhar powder, salt haldi, hing and let it boil till thick.
  8. Remove from fire when saucy.
  9. Serve with rice.
