Healthy snack with Oats and Ragi for kids. this can be eaten during breakfast or as a snack in tiffin box. My son loves these and calls it chocolate pancakes because of its color.

Oats and Ragi Pancakes recipe - How to make Oats and Ragi Pancakes

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 12 pancakes

1/2 cup quick cooking rolled oats
1/2 cup ragi (nachni / red millet) flour
3 tbsp semolina (rava)
6 tbsp grated jaggery (gur)
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp butter
a pinch salt
milk as required
few drops of vanilla essence
honey for drizzling
  1. Dry roast the oats for 2 minutes in a pan and make powder. Keep aside for further use.
  2. Dry roast the ragi powder and semolina separately for 2 minutes and keep aside.
  3. Combine the ragi, oats, semolina. jaggery, salt, butter, vanilla essence and milk and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  4. Before making the pan cakes add the baking soda and mix the batter properly
  5. Heat the griddle, grease it with butter, add a spoonful of batter and prepare the pancakes on medium flame.
  6. Cover the pancake
  7. You will see some bubbles forming on the pancakes, flip the pancake after 5 minutes. Cook until done.
  8. Serve immediately with honey and fresh strawberries or pack warm.
