Moong Dal Khichdi recipe - How to make Moong Dal Khichdi

Ingredients
3/4 cup uncooked rice (chawal)
3/4 cup sprouted moong (whole green gram)
2 to 3 pinches asafoetida (hing)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
2 tbsp ghee

To Be Mixed Together In Masala Mixture
2 tsp coriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tbsp grated fresh coconut
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste
Method
  1. Wash the rice. Drain.
  2. Wash the moong sprouts. Drain.
  3. Put the ghee in a glass bowl and microwave on high for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add the rice, moong sprouts, asafoetida, turmeric powder, masala mixture and 1¼ cups of water.
  5. Cover and microwave on high for 13 minutes, stirring twice in between.

Tips
  1. Serve hot.
