The moong dal dosa is a common feature in any South indian household and is typically relished as breakfast with coconut chutney. The moong dal is ground and then made into a batter. The crispy moong dal dosa or pancakes are much healthier than the rice based ones due to higher protein content.

Qty Measure Ingredient Wt.(gms)
1 cup moong dal (split green gram)
1/4 cup rice (chawal)
1/2 cup chopped onions
5 tsp chopped green chillies
5 tsp chopped ginger (adrak)
salt to taste

  1. Soak moongdaal and rice for 8-10hours.
  2. Grind it to a batter of medium consistency by adding water required.
  3. Add salt required to this.
  4. Spread a laddle full of batter on the preheated tava.
  5. Spread a tsp of oil.
  6. Fry it till light brown color.
  7. Garnish with 2tsp of onions,1tsp of green chilles and ginger.
