Matar - coriander sandwich has the spicy coriander and mint chutney as spread and boiled peas as a filling. Toast the sandwich in a toaster or cook on a slow fire till crispy.

For Chutney:
1/4 kg boiled green peas
1/4 cup coriander (dhania)
hand full mint leaves (phudina)
1/2 capsicum
2 green chillies
4 tsp grated coconut
salt to taste

Other Ingredients
4 slices of bread
butter as required (optional)
2 cheese slices
5-6 tomato , thinly sliced
salt to taste

For The Garnish:
2 tbsp grated paneer (cottage cheese)
2 tbsp sev

  1. Grind all the ingredients together in a mixer, add little water to get a smooth textured chutney.

How to proceed:

  1. Apply butter on the bread slices
  2. Apply the prepared green peas chutney on it.
  3. Place a few slices of tomato on it
  4. Put a slice of cheese on it.
  5. Cover the sandwich with another buttered slice.
  6. Cook it on a tpaster or on a tava with little oil and till crispy from both the sides.
  7. Garnish it with grated paneer and sev and serve immediately.
