Mashed Potatoes is an international favourite, and a comfort food for many. Its bland but pleasant taste and soothing texture make it a pick-me-up food, which is sure to lift your mood.

Although Mashed Potatoes is traditionally made with cream or butter, we have made a dairy-free version here, which can be relished by lactose-intolerant people too.

A simple dish of boiled potatoes seasoned with salt and pepper, this dish is also suggested for those on a recovery diet. It curbs vomiting and nausea, and provides lots of energy.

Nevertheless have it only in limited quantities. To get your Mashed Potatoes right, make sure you use a strainer with big holes in it.

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 1 cup

4 medium boiled and peeled potatoes
2 tsp olive oil
salt and freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) to taste
  1. Grate the boiled potatoes.
  2. Strain the grated potatoes with help of a spoon in a strainer in a deep bowl.
  3. Add the olive oil, salt and pepper and mix well.
  4. Serve immediately.
