Maida Rava Thidhir ( Dosa) recipe - How to make Maida Rava Thidhir ( Dosa)

1 cup plain flour (maida)
1 cup rice semolina (idli rawa)
1/2 cup rice (chawal) powder
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
2 tsp pepper powder
1 onion , finely chopped
2 green chillies , finely chopped
5 to 6 curry leaves (kadi patta) , finely chopped
2 to 3 sprigs coriander (dhania) , finely chopped
salt to taste
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, adding enough water, to make a batter of pouring consistency.
  2. Heat a non-stick tava and grease it with 1/2 tsp of oil, pour a spoonful of batter on it and spread it in a circular motion.
  3. Cover the pan for a few seconds until the dosa is cooked.
  4. Serve hot with coconut chutney or phudina chutney or pickle.

  1. Allow the idli rava to soak in warm water for fine consistency,to increase the cripness of the dosa add more rice powder.
