1 cup toor dal washed and soaked for 2 hrs
½ cup methi leaves washed and chopped
½ cup coriander leaves washed and chopped
1 inch ginger grated
5-6 green chillies salt to taste
½ cup grated coconut
- Grind the soaked toor dal and chillies without water coarsely. ensure that it does not become a paste.
- Add the coconut, ginger , methi and coriander leaves
- Add salt
- Make the dough into the shape of slightly flat vadas or as a dumpling
- Steam it 20-25 minutes in a idli stand or otherwise
