Method
  1. Heat the ghee in a deep pan and add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  2. When the seeds crackle, add the curry leaves and asafoetida and saute for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the dal and 2 cups water, mix well and cook for 5 minutes. Add all the spices and garlic, mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the coriander, mix well and serve hot with hot rice.
