Lasooni Dal recipe - How to make Lasooni Dal

  1. Pressure cook the dal with enough water.
  2. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
  3. Add the asafoetida, mix well, cover and keep aside.
  4. Combine the green chillies, ginger, garlic and cumin seeds and blend in a mixer till smooth. Keep aside.
  5. Heat the ghee in a deep pan and add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
  6. When the seeds crackle, add the red chillies and curry leaves and saute for few seconds.
  7. Add the dal, ground masala, salt and coconut, mix well and bring the dal to boil.
  8. Simmer for few seconds.
  9. Serve hot garnished with coriander.
