Enriched with the goodness of kidney beans or rajmah, the Kidney bean soup is great in texture and taste,. The beans are boiled and then blended with tomato puree and celery and then served hot with croutons.

Ingredients

KIDNEY BEAN SOUP
1 cup rajma (kidney beans)
4 tomatoes , chopped
1/2 tsp chilli powder
2 tbsp oil
2 onions, chopped
3 cloves of garlic (lehsun)
salt to taste
Method

  1. Wash the beans and soak in water overnight.
  2. Next day drain thoroughly.
  3. Heat oil, add onions and fry for 1 min.
  4. Add tomatoes, garlic, chilli powder and salt and fry again for 1 min.
  5. Add the beans and 6 cups of water and cook in a pressure cooker.
  6. Blend in a blender. do not strain.
  7. Add the lemon juice and serve hot.
