Khichadi is a simple gruel of a lentil and rice which can be made by cooking rice , lentils along with Indian spices. The delectable khichadi is appealing in looks and tastes delicious with curd or vegetables.

- Wash the rice. drain.
- Wash the moong sprouts. drain.
- Put the ghee in a glass bowl and microwave on high for about 30 seconds.
- Add the rice, moong sprouts, asafoetida, turmeric powder, masala mixture and 2 1/2 teacups of water.
- Cover and microwave on high for about 15 minutes, stirring in-between after every 5 minutes.
