Delicious jeera kalimirch ki kadhi is an innovative Punjabhi kadhi recipe with dumplings simmered in a curd and gram flour(besan) based curry which is hinted with a delectable taste of cumin seeds and black pepper powder.A delicious tangy flavoursome kadhi is served typically with steamed rice and roasted papad.

1 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/2 tbsp black peppercorns (kalimirch)
1 cup grated coconut
1 to 2 " piece of tamarind (imli)
4 to 5 red chillies
3 to 4 cloves of garlic (lehsun)
1/2 tbsp oil
salt to taste
1 " piece of dreid pomogranate (anar) skin (optional)

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add pepper, garlic cloves, pomegranate skin(optional), red chillies and jeera.
  3. Saute for around 3-4 mins.
  4. Grind this with grated coconut and tamarind into a paste.
  5. Now add water to this paste as per desired consistency and add salt to taste.
  6. Bring to boil.
  7. Serve hot.
