Instant Khatta Meetha Amla Achaar recipe - How to make Instant Khatta Meetha Amla Achaar

1 kg amla
500 gms sugar
2 cups water
5 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
2 tsp garam masala
jaggery (gur) as per taste
salt to taste
  1. Boil water and add sugar and amla in it for 5 to 7 minutes.
  2. Strain and cool amla and then cut them into small pieces.
  3. Discard seeds.make sure amla is completely dried that is no water is left in amla pieces
  4. Heat the oil in pan and add mustard seeds while it crackle add amla into it and saute for few minutes.
  5. Add the chilli powder , turmeric, garam masala and salt to taste.
  6. cook it again for 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Crush the jaggery and add in pickle. when it melts, turn off the flame.
  8. Cool it and keep them in air tight container, when it is completely cool down store in refrigerator.
