Idli Pizza recipe - How to make Idli Pizza

1 cup urad dal (split black lentils)
2 cups semolina (rava)
1 cup grated mozzrella cheese
2 tomatoes , sliced
1 medium sized onion , sliced
1 big capsicum , sliced
a pinch dried oregano powder
salt to taste
  1. Clean, wash and soak the dal in enough water for at least 3 hours.
  2. Drain and blend the dal in a mixer along with 2 cups water till smooth.
  3. Transfer in a bowl, add the semolina and salt and mix well to make a smooth batter of pouring consistency.
  4. Cover and keep in a warm and dry place for 6 to 8 hours for fermenting.
  5. Place the batter in a deep flat plate and steam in a steamer for 5 minutes.
  6. Top the half cooked batter with the cheese, sliced tomatoes, peppers and onions.
  7. Steam again for another 7 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle oregano powder.
  9. Cut it into slices like pizza and serve hot.
