Hariyali Kalakand recipe - How to make Hariyali Kalakand



Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 serving

4 cups fresh green peas
200 ml condensed milk
1 cup crumbled paneer (cottage cheese)
1/2 cup grated mava (khoya)
1/4 tsp powdered cardamoms
a pinch nutmeg (jaiphal) powder
2 tbsp sliced pistachio
  1. Add green peas to 4 cups boiling water with a small pinch of salt and cook for 5 minutes.
  2. Drain and leave to cool and then crush or mash to a fine paste without adding water.
  3. Heat a nonstick pan,add condensed milk,peas paste,crumbled cottage cheese and grated mava and on medium flame, cook till the mixture leaves the side of pan.
  4. Add cardamom powder along with nutmeg powder and mix.
  5. Flatten the mixture on a flat glass or steel tray.
  6. Sprinkle pistachio slices.
  7. Leave aside to cool.
  8. When still warm,cut into square or desired shapes.
