If you don't want mustard seeds ro splutter all over the place just add a pinch of turmeric to the oil. it will avoid rigourous spluttering and all the seeds will remain in the pan

Ingredients

500 gms green peas , mashed coarsely
4 to 5 green chillies
1 tbsp plain flour (maida)
1 tsp cornflour
1/4 cup semolina (rava) or fine bread crumbs
1/2 tsp black pepper (kalimirch) powder
salt to taste
a few drops of green colour (optional)
oil to deep fry
Method

  1. Mix all ingredients except rawa or breadcrumbs.
  2. Shape into patties with a greased hand.
  3. Roll in crumbs or rawa. 4.heat oil to deep fry.
  4. Fry in hot oil on medium, till crisp and brown.
  5. Turn, repeat for other side.
  6. Drain on kitchen paper/tissue
  7. Serve hot with green and tamarind chutneys or tomato sauce.
