Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 serving

1 1/2 cups sour curd
besan (bengal gram flour)
1 tsp green chilli paste
salt to taste
3 tsp sugar

For Tempering
1 1/2 tsp ghee (home made)
1/4 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1/4 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
few curry leaves (kadi patta)
4 cloves (laung / lavang)
1/2 inch cinnamon (dalchini) stick
few coriander (dhania) seeds
1/2 slit green chilli broken into pieces

For Garnishing
few chopped coriander (dhania) leaves
  1. Mix together curd and gram flour, whisk well so that no lumps remain.
  2. Add 1 ½ cup of water, mix well.

For tempering

    For tempering
  1. Heat ghee in non stick pan.Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  2. When the seeds crackles add asafoetida,cloves, cinnamon stick, coriander seeds, curry leaves, and green chillies.
  3. Add this tempering to kadhi, mix well.
  4. Add green chilli paste, salt and sugar, mix well.
  5. Put to boil for 5-6 minutes on medium flame, stir in between occasionally.
  6. Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves with steamed rice, khichdi or with chapatti
