Groundnut Pulao recipe - How to make Groundnut Pulao



Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 3 servings

300 gms long grained rice (basmati)
200 gms ghee
200 gms peanuts
1/2 cup grated coconut
3 onions , chopped
2 capsicums , chopped
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp chopped ginger (adrak)
6 green chillies , chopped
2 to 3 cloves (laung / lavang)
1 stick cinnamon (dalchini) as required
salt to taste
chopped coriander (dhania) for garnishing
  1. Heat 50 gm of ghee in a non-stick pan, add the groundnuts and fry till they turn crisp.
  2. Remove, cool and blend in a mixer to a smooth powder. Keep aside.
  3. Heat 250 gm of ghee in the same pan, add the rice and saute till they turn pink in colour.
  4. Pressure cook the rice till they are cooked. Keep aside.
  5. Heat 50 gm of ghee in a small pan, add the cloves, cinnamon and green chillies and saute for few seconds.
  6. Add the onions, ginger, capsicum and salt, mix well and cook till the capsicum is soft.
  7. Add this mixture and powdered groundnuts to the rice and mix well.
  8. Add the fried coconut and mix well.
  9. Add the lemon juice, mix well and garnish with coriander.
  10. Serve hot.
