For The Paneer Marination
400 gms paneer (cottagte cheese) cubes
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp lemon juice
salt to taste
1 tbsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste

For The Cherry Chutney
250 gms cherries
30 gms tamarind (imli)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/8 tsp black salt (sanchal)
salt to taste
1/2 tsp pomegranate (anardana) powder
1/2 tsp sugar

Other Ingredients
20 ml olive oil
For the paneer marination

    For the paneer marination
  1. In a deep bowl combine the paneer, turmeric powder, chilli powder, lemon juice, salt and ginger-garlic paste and mix well.
  2. Keep aside and allow to marinate for 30 minutes.

For the cherry chutney

    For the cherry chutney
  1. De seed the cherries and add half cherries to a heated pan.
  2. Add the tamarind, cumin seeds, salt, black salt, pomogranate powder and sugar, mix well.
  3. Cook till tamrind is cooked and thick.
  4. Strain the mixture and add half the cherries.
  5. Keep aside.

How to proceed

  1. Heat the oil in a pan add the marinated paneer and cook till they turn golden brown from all the sides.
  2. Remove on a serving plate and drizzle the cherry chutney. Serve hot.
