8 green chillies
1 tbsp grated coconut
1/2 " piece of ginger (adrak)
sugar to taste
2 tsp coriander (dhania) leaves (optional)
250 gms plain flour (maida)
2 pinches of baking soda or fruit salt
1 tbsp besan (Bengal gram flour)
50 to 75 ml curds (dahi)
oil for deep fryig

  1. Grind coarsely or pound coconut, green chillies, sugar, ginger
  2. Mix with other ingredients to a medium batterconsistency,using little water
  3. Keep for 30 min. if you are in a hurry you need not keep it
  4. Heat oil, deep fry,leaving about 1 tsp. batter for each golpuri. you can make many at a time.
  5. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
