A step by step procedure for preparing fried wontons in typical South east asian style of cooking. A Chinese favorite snack or starter recipe, fried wontons are filled with meat or vegetable filling and served with soup.

for the wraps
4 tbsp plain flour (maida)
1 tbsp oil
1/3 of an egg
a pinch of salt

for the filling
4 tbsp chopped cabbage
1 tbsp chopped bambooshoots
2 to 3 mushrooms (khumbh), chopped
1/4 tsp @ of salt sugar
1/8 tsp @ of pepper and ajinomotto

  1. Make the dough with ingredients for the wraps using little water if necessary.
  2. Keep in the fridge for ½ an hour.
  3. Roll it cut into pieces.
  4. Mix all the ingredients for the filling fill in the wraps make the shape.
  5. Deep fry serve with hot garlic sauce or tomato ketchup.
