Faraali Doodhi Sago Pancakes recipe - How to make Faraali Doodhi Sago Pancakes

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 4 servings

1 cup soaked sago (sabudana)
1 cup grated bottle gourd (doodhi / lauki)
1/2 cup sago (sabudana) flour
salt to taste
2 tsp chopped green chillies
1 tsp finely chopped ginger (adrak)
2 tbsp roasted and crushed peanuts
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
oil for cooking
milk as required

To Garnish
grated paneer (cottage cheese)
powdered cumin seeds (jeera)
freshly ground pepper
  1. In a steamer dry steam the bottle gourd and steam the sago with little water in it for 10 minutes.
  2. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and make the smooth regular consistency pancake batter.
  3. Heat the non stick pan lightly and pour the laddleful of batter on to it and spread gently.
  4. Smear little oil and before turning garnish it with cumin seeds powder, pepper and paneer.
  5. Turn and cook it for 2 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with cucumber and basil raita.
