Easy Yummy Dal Pakwaan recipe - How to make Easy Yummy Dal Pakwaan


Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 2 servings

2 cups plain flour (maida)
1 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)
salt to taste
oil for deep frying
3 cups chana dal (split bengal gram)
1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 cup finely chopped onions
2 tbsp pepper powder
  1. Combine the plain flour with cumin seeds, salt and enough water, mix well and knead into a smooth dough.
  2. Cover and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll out each portion into a circle of 5" diameter.
  4. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry the puris till crisp and golden brown from both the sides.
  5. Drain on an absorbent paper and keep aside.
  6. Combine the dal with salt and turmeric powder and pressure cook with enough water till the dal is cooked.
  7. Add the red chilli powder, mix well and coil for 3 minutes.
  8. Serve the dal with prepared pakwans topped with onions.
