2 tins canned corn kernels (makai ke dane)
2 boiled potatoes , peeled and chopped
1 tomato , finely chopped
2 onions , finely chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 tsp oil
2 pinchs of asafoetida (hing)
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp sugar
salt to taste
chopped coriander (dhania) for garnishing
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
grated fresh coconut for garnishing
  1. Heat the oil in a deep pan, add the cumin seeds and when the seeds crackle, add the asafoetida.
  2. Add the onions and green chillies and saute till the onions turn translucent.
  3. Add the tomatoes and saute for more 2 minutes.
  4. Add the corn, potatoes, lemon juice, sugar and salt and mix well.
  5. Garnish with coriander and coconut.
  6. Serve hot.
