Dudhi carrot halwa is a traditional indian sweet dish prepared from grated doodhi (also known as bottle gourd or lauki) cooked with grated carrots ,sugar, ghee and spices like cardamom. A delicious dessert dish which can be served as a snack or after meal sweet!

Dudhi-carrot Halwa recipe - How to make Dudhi-carrot Halwa



Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 8 servings

500 gms grated bottle gourd (doodhi / lauki)
300 gms grated mava (khoya)
250 gms powdered sugar
1 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
rose petals for garnishing
mixed chopped nuts for garnishing
  1. Pressure cook the doodhi for 1 whistle.
  2. Place the cooker under the cold running water and open immediately.
  3. Strain the excess water and add the mawa, powdered sugar, cardamom powder, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Garnish with rose leaves and silver paper.
  5. Serve hot.
