Diwali Tartlets recipe - How to make Diwali Tartlets

To Be Mixed and Kneaded Into A Dough For Tarts
1/2 cup plain flour (maida)
1/2 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1/4 cup butter
salt to taste
cold water as required

For The Filling
1/4 cup roasted and crushed almonds (badam)
1/4 cup paneer (cottagte cheese) cubes
1/4 cup boiled and crushed sweet corn kernels (makai ke dane)
1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
1 tbsp olive oil
salt to taste
1/2 tsp garam masala

For The Topping
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup chopped spring onions
salt to taste

To Garnish
1/4 cup grated processed cheese
1/4 cup blanched and pistachio slivers
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) powder
  1. Pre heat the oven at 180 degrees and grease the tart-lets.
  2. Roll small puris of 2mm. Thickness and fix them into tartlets. Trim off the extra edges and pierce them with fork and bake it for 15 minutes or until light golden and crisp.

  1. Heat the oil in a pan, add the garlic and saute.
  2. Add all other vegetables and season it well.

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl. Keep aside.

To assemble

  1. Take baked tarlets and put 1 tbs filling at base.
  2. Top it with 1 tsp of mayo mixture.
  3. Garnish it with grated cheese, pista and sprinkle spice powder on top.
  4. Serve fresh.
